People’s Choice Awards
Kyocera sponsored the People’s Choice Awards in 2011 but wasn’t interested in the standard sponsored by arrangement.
Working with Kyocera & the PCAs, LPI leveraged every aspect of their involvement in the awards show and the selection of the Zio handset as the “envelope.” LPI utilized the nominations, sweepstakes, special social media promotions, and a stream of releases leading up to the awards show to make Kyocera a big part of the story and then used a red carpet presence to continue the company’s prominence with media.
A breakthrough sponsorship for the company that has helped extend the life of the ZIO handset at Sprint and boost sales. Through the various PR pulses, hundreds of TV, print and online stories ran featuring Kyocera as the official sponsor and the ZIO handset. Photos with celebs such as Jennifer Aniston and Johnny Depp announcing winners with the phones ran in entertainment outlets nationwide including Life & Style and InTouch. The coverage resulted in 180 million consumer impressions, a 400% increase in Facebook activity and 5:1 ROI.
