Leasa Ireland is an award-winning PR executive with 18 years experience leading communications teams in both agencies (PR and advertising) and in-house. Beginning her career in journalism, she has worked as a Newspaper reporter as well as in radio and TV news. Ireland brought her reporter training to PR programs for a wide range of companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500. She also worked as an advertising exec before focusing solely on PR.
Ireland has created award-winning programs and has extensive expertise in brand-building, crisis management, strategic and creative product launches, media training, entertainment/celebrity outreach and sponsorships, youth and consumer products. Starting off promoting educational software (Jostens Learning, Lightspan) and then videogames (Sega, Namco, LucasArts – she knows more about Star Wars than any
teenage boy), her consumer technology clients then segued to mainly Internet-related services and companies and, today, wireless.
Prior to founding LPI Communications 10 years ago, Ireland was VP of Communications at eHobbies, the first Venture from eCompanies, created by the founder of EarthLink and Boingo, where she helped to build the company up from six to 260 employees. Previously, she led consumer and consumer tech accounts at Manning, Selvage & Lee, L.A’s largest PR firm at the time. Clients included Nike, Disney Online, General Mills, Sunkist Oranges, Sega, EarthLink, LucasArts (an LPI client as well) and multiple start-up companies.
Heavily involved in her community, Ireland has served on many boards and leads charitable programs for the PTA and Manhattan Beach Education Foundation. She also teaches nutrition (Growing Great) and art programs (Young at Art) to elementary school children.
