Brad Shewmake is a seasoned PR executive with a passion for all things tech. With more than 12 years experience crafting messages, writing, and managing media relations, Brad has developed an impressive network of top-tier press and analyst contacts, particularly in consumer tech and wireless communications.
Brad was reunited with LPI after several years managing global PR for the CDMA Development Group (CDG), where he leveraged mind share from industry leaders, case studies, market research and operator testimonials to promote strong CDMA growth in regions such as Africa, China and SE Asia. He also developed a comprehensive social media program utilizing Facebook, Twitter and YouTube that complemented an industry blog highlighting CDMA innovations and success stories.
Shewmake first worked with LPI as a client when he was communications manager at Kyocera Wireless and played an instrumental role in building brand awareness, promoting Kyocera products and managing crisis communications that helped minimize negative exposure surrounding two separate battery recalls.
Shewmake began his PR career at Fleishman-Hillard, the world′s largest public relations agency, where he earned his marcom stripes in the Silicon Valley technology practice group during the peak of the dot-com boom (and bust). At F-H, Brad helped grow the agency′s wireless practice managing marketing communications for top brands and products such as Metrical, Yahoo!, and Danger, Inc. (makers of the Hiptop mobile platform and the popular T-Mobile Sidekick).
An avid UCLA sports fan, Shewmake lives in his native San Diego where he enjoys golfing, sailing and riding motorcycles.
